Players receive an additional fee of Rs 45 lakh per match for playing more than 75 percent of Tests in a season. Even those not playing eleven will receive Rs 22.5 lakh as an additional match fee per match.

This move comes days after BCCI secretary Jay Shah warned the contracted players to prioritize domestic tournaments, especially the Ranji Trophy. Last month, the BCCI terminated the central contracts of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan after the two missed domestic cricket duty for their state. Iyer was dropped from the last three tests against England while Ishan Kishan has not taken part in competitive cricket since November 2023. Both the players were seen practicing at their IPL team camps.
