RCB all-rounder Kate Cross makes big revelation on Virat Kohli

Kate Cross revealed that Virat Kohli asked the RCB owners to honour the women’s team at the unboxing event in Bengaluru.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Kate Cross revealed that it was Virat Kohli, who asked the RCB owners to ‘honour the girls’ after their historic Women’s Premier League (WPL) win. RCB beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 8 wickets at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.

RCB left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux won the Player of the Match award for his crucial 3 wickets and gave only 20 runs from her quota of four overs, which brought the Delhi team to the backseat. Shreyanka Patil grabbed 4 wickets as RCB restricted Delhi to 113 in 18.3 overs.

In the second innings, RCB easily chased down the target with the help of Ellyse Perry’s 35, Sophie Devine’s 32 and Smriti Mandhana’s 31 and won by 8 wickets and 3 balls remaining.

On March 19, at the RCB unbox event in M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. During the event, the men’s team gave the guard of honour to the women’s team for their achievement. This is the first trophy for the RCB franchise.

England bowler, Kate Cross who did not play any match this season, said it was Kohli’s idea to give the respect to the girls they deserve.

“The owner got the text from Virat Kohli saying, we should honour the girls on Sunday,” Cross said on BBC.

The RCB and KKR set to play an exciting match

After losing against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and winning against Punjab Kings (PBKS), RCB will be looking for their third win and second in front of their home crowd against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). RCB and KKR have been head-to-head and their contest has been exciting. Meanwhile, KKR has the upper hand winning 18 of the 32 matches. However, RCB has won 14 of them. RCB last time defeated KKR at Bengaluru in 2015.  

Virat Kohli won the Player of the Match award

In the last match, Virat Kohli showed his class and made 77 runs from 49 balls. His knock helped RCB to chase down the total of 177. In this match, Jonny Bairstow dropped the catch of Virat Kohli which cost them. After the win, Virat Kohli got the Player of the Match award. Currently, Kohli is in the third spot in the orange cap race with his 98 runs.
